 WATFORD WORKSHOP RECEIVES
AUDENTIOR CHARITABLE GROUP AWARD
The eighth annual Audentior Awards, held in the Watford Coloseum, saw Watford Workshop receive the Charitable Group Award.
Presented by Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill and the current and immediate past Council Chairmen, Councillor Lindsey Scudder and Councillor Alan Burtenshaw, these awards celebrate and honour the outstanding work and exceptional enthusiasm shown by organisations and individuals in the borough.
The one attribute that all nominees should share is the quality of being extraordinary in their commitment, dedication, energy and effort in their particular field.
Mayor Thornhill said: “I always maintain that the Audentior awards showcase the best that our town has to offer. This evening is our way of saying thank you to our top volunteers in the town. People who give up hours of their time to make Watford an even better place to live. They do this week in, week out and many of our award winners have been at it for decades! They thoroughly deserve this evening.”
Watford Sheltered Workshop have worked as a ‘social enterprise’ for forty years, competing for engineering and production contracts while providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities or learning difficulties.
The workshop’s trustees, staff and volunteers have demonstrated an enduring commitment to their client group while offering a top quality service to their commercial clients.
